Information and resources for local communities and households
We actively support in local communities up and down the country. With 100 depots covering over 98% of UK postcodes, our local teams provide practical help - from green waste collections for households to visiting schools to help teach children about the importance of recycling.

Information for households
We support many local councils with household waste collection services. Biffa helps these local councils safely reduce waste, improve sustainability, and increase recycling rates. Our services include collection of general, food and recyclable waste, street cleaning, and the management of household waste recycling centres.

Educational activities for school children
Many of our local teams will visit schools to help educate children on how waste impacts the environment, and the importance of recycling. We can offer support to schools with workshops, provide fun Wasteater educational resources and activities, as well as initiatives to engage children in biodiversity, such as Biffa Bees.

Spot a Wasteater
We want to help everyone across the country reduce, reuse and recycle more.
Recycling rates in the UK have stalled and good recycling habits are slipping, so to help reverse this trend, our wonderful Wasteaters crew are here to help.
As well as providing fun characters for our educational resources, our colourful Wasteater trucks are out and about across the country. Follow our Wasteaters on social media and if you spot one, snap it, post it, tag Biffa and #Wasteater so we can share it!

Green Waste Club for household garden waste
With over 65,000 members the Green Waste Club offers a subscription collection service for green waste for as little as £1 per week. If we support your local council with waste collection services, then you may be able to subscribe. Residents can choose an individual subscription, or together with their neighbours share a group subscription. All green waste collected is converted at our facilities into compost for domestic and agricultural use.
